Visit to the Pink Floyd Cafe Pushkar
Some places aren’t just about food or views — they’re about how they make you feel. And for a Pink Floyd fan like me, stumbling upon a cafe themed around the legendary band in the heart of Pushkar was nothing short of magic.
Discovering Pushkar’s Hidden Gem
Pushkar has a way of pulling you in. With its maze-like lanes, peaceful ghats, rooftop cafes, and holy temples — the town feels like a dream you don’t want to wake up from. It was during one of my wanderings through the narrow alleys that I caught sight of something familiar: a sign that read Pink Floyd Cafe and Hotel.
After a few wrong turns and curious glances from locals, we finally reached the entrance — tucked quietly into a side street, just like a hidden track on a classic album.
First Impressions: Time-Stained but Full of Soul
The place isn’t polished — and that’s its charm. The walls tell stories, the furniture has character, and there’s an old-school vibe that’s hard to fake. Some might call it rustic, but to me, it felt like a tribute to decades of backpacker memories and hazy evenings spent discussing music and travel.
Each room in the hotel is named after a Pink Floyd Cafe Pushkar album. While there’s a ‘No Photography’ sign, the staff seemed relaxed and warm, especially when they realized we were real fans.
A Vibe Straight Out of the 70s
The rooftop was temporarily closed, but we were asked to wait. Meanwhile, we sat on cushions by a window, sipping on a tangy lemon soda as Dark Side of the Moon played softly. It wasn’t a loud theme park tribute — it was subtle and authentic, much like Pushkar itself.
The menu too was eclectic, with dishes ranging from Israeli to Indian — much like the travellers who pass through Pushkar every day.
Views Worth the Wait
When we finally made it to the rooftop, it took our breath away. The panoramic view of Pushkar — with its lake, ghats, temples, and distant Aravalli hills — was mesmerizing. From up there, you don’t just see Pushkar — you feel it.
